About the Role

Guide visitors through the untouched landscapes of the Mitchell Plateau, delivering educational and culturally respectful experiences centered on the region's natural and Indigenous heritage.

Responsibilities

  • Lead guided walks through rugged tropical terrain
  • Share knowledge of local flora, fauna, and geology
  • Deliver interpretive presentations on ecosystem dynamics
  • Ensure guest safety during outdoor activities
  • Operate small vehicles and watercraft responsibly
  • Maintain detailed trip logs and incident reports
  • Assist in campsite setup and upkeep
  • Follow environmental protection protocols
  • Engage respectfully with Indigenous cultural sites
  • Communicate weather and terrain risks clearly
  • Support emergency response procedures
  • Uphold company safety standards at all times
  • Participate in team briefings and training
  • Manage guest expectations in remote settings
  • Promote low-impact visitor practices
  • Handle food and waste according to environmental guidelines
  • Navigate using maps and GPS in unmarked areas
  • Respond to wildlife encounters appropriately
  • Maintain equipment and transport vehicles
  • Adapt itineraries due to environmental conditions

Nice to Have

  • Indigenous heritage or community ties
  • Certification in wilderness first response
  • Training in environmental education
  • Experience in northern Western Australia
  • Knowledge of traditional land management

Compensation
