Lap of Love is hiring a Mobile Veterinarian - Part time

Provide meaningful veterinary care in the comfort of pets' homes, focusing on hospice and end-of-life services across Washington, DC. As a mobile practitioner, you’ll conduct 3–4 unhurried visits daily, prioritizing presence, empathy, and personalized attention during sensitive transitions.

What You’ll Do

  • Deliver compassionate in-home hospice and euthanasia care with dignity and emotional support
  • Engage deeply with pets and their families during pivotal moments
  • Minimize time on documentation to focus on patient and client connection
  • Practice independently while remaining connected to a national community of over 400 veterinarians
  • Uphold a practice model aligned with personal and professional values

Qualifications

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM, VMD, or BVMS) degree
  • Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to safely operate a vehicle
  • Capacity to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted and 100 pounds with help
  • Flexibility to work select weekends
  • Successful completion of post-offer background and motor vehicle record checks

Work Environment

This is a local, mobile position with flexible scheduling options between two and five days per week.
