Saronic Technologies is hiring a Mission Operations Engineer

Responsibilities

  • Gain thorough knowledge of vehicle hardware and software design and their integration into a unified system.
  • Plan and conduct structured field tests focused on vessel capabilities, including autonomous navigation, sensor performance, communication systems, and perception technologies.
  • Troubleshoot autonomy systems, onboard software, hardware, and network issues during live test operations.
  • Design and apply solutions to improve testing efficiency, operational safety, and system resilience.
  • Manage data logging and telemetry systems to guarantee accurate and complete data for post-mission analysis.
  • Support root cause investigations and anomaly triage processes, providing reports to oversight groups to prevent recurring problems.
  • Perform maintenance on autonomous vessels and test setups, using diagnostic tools and telemetry to improve equipment dependability.
  • Ensure all testing activities comply with relevant government standards for safety, performance, and regulatory requirements.
  • Lead the development and implementation of test plans to verify software upgrades, autonomous behaviors, and full-system integration.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams across disciplines to convert technical requirements into actionable, field-tested objectives.
  • Promote teamwork, transparent communication, and ongoing learning within the operational group.
  • Establish standardized test checklists, safety procedures, and operational protocols to ensure consistency and reduce inefficiencies.
  • Produce detailed post-mission documentation including data visualizations, incident summaries, and technical feedback.
