As a Mid QA Engineer (Java), you'll play a key role in shaping the reliability and performance of a new application. Your responsibilities will include designing and maintaining automated test frameworks, executing both manual and automated test scenarios, and ensuring thorough validation across platforms and environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, refine, and sustain automated test cases using BDD methodologies to support continuous integration
- Perform exploratory testing, including smoke and regression checks for functional and non-functional aspects
- Collaborate with developers and product owners during sprint planning and story analysis to define testable criteria
- Log and track defects and tasks using Jira, and contribute to team discussions with clear issue assessments and solutions
- Support user acceptance testing by guiding business testers and validating outcomes
- Participate actively in agile ceremonies and help estimate testing efforts
- Ensure test coverage aligns with technical specifications and business requirements
Required Expertise
- At least three years of hands-on testing experience within the software development lifecycle, preferably in agile settings
- Proven experience with test automation tools such as Selenium WebDriver, Cypress, or Playwright
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or AWS CodePipeline
- Solid grasp of REST API testing and automation
- Working knowledge of SQL and database validation techniques
- Experience with version control systems, particularly Git
- Understanding of behavioral-driven development and test scenario design
- Background in non-functional testing, including cross-browser, cross-platform, and performance validation
- Ability to identify, assess, and communicate testing risks
- Strong written and verbal communication, problem-solving, and self-direction
- Familiarity with Jira and Confluence for task and knowledge management
- Experience testing on mobile devices and AWS-hosted applications
- ISTQB certification or equivalent knowledge
