Responsibilities
- Leading and supporting project execution, including managing teams, individual tasks, and entire projects
- Acting as Field Director, Principal Investigator, or crew lead as required
- Producing cultural resource reports independently
- Analyzing precontact stone tools, especially from the Klamath Basin and Northern California, based on academic and professional background
- Applying expertise in data collection and analysis methods for precontact lithics, including typological and technological assessments, raw material sourcing through petrography or geochemistry, and use-wear or residue studies via microscopy
- Overseeing small to large field operations such as surveys, testing, data recovery, and monitoring under tight timelines
- Conducting archival research, writing technical reports, securing state and federal permits, collecting data, and creating GIS maps
- Serving as lead author or senior reviewer when appropriate
- Managing large compliance monitoring efforts that require strict adherence to permit requirements
- Working under guidance from senior staff while independently completing all but the most complex assignments
- Supervising team members in field, office, and laboratory settings as needed
- Building and maintaining constructive relationships with clients and stakeholders
- Demonstrating understanding of federal and state environmental regulations, including NEPA and NHPA, and other laws protecting cultural resources
- Organizing and maintaining data in a clear and efficient format
- Balancing multiple responsibilities and clearly communicating priorities to management
- Serving as the main contact for clients and resource agencies on assigned projects
- Handling client communication tasks such as regular status updates, milestone reviews, and daily coordination
- Managing project budgets, invoicing, and initial project setup
- Contributing meaningfully to the archaeological documentation of the Lower Klamath Project, the largest dam removal in U.S. history

- This is a full-time, salaried, regular position
- The role supports the decommissioning of the Lower Klamath Project, a landmark dam removal and salmon habitat restoration initiative on the Klamath River involving artifact analysis
