Role OverviewWe are looking for an experienced MES/MOM Consultant to join our team, focusing on Siemens Opcenter Core and Camstar platforms within discrete and process manufacturing environments. This position is fully remote within the European Union and plays a key role in delivering robust Manufacturing Execution System (MES) solutions from concept through deployment.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with project leads to gather and document business, functional, and technical requirements, including User Requirement Specifications (URS)
- Contribute to the creation of design specifications such as Functional Design Specification (FDS) documents
- Define project tasks and assist in estimating effort durations in coordination with project leadership
- Independently execute assigned tasks under the guidance of technical leads, providing regular progress updates
- Diagnose and resolve software development issues, including version control conflicts and release inconsistencies
- Apply best practices in software development and deployment to improve project efficiency
- Develop and execute test protocols, including unit, regression, integration, and functional testing
- Support validation activities by preparing and executing Test and Validation Specification documents
- Train and mentor end-users on MES system functionality and workflows
- Support Functional and Site Acceptance Testing to ensure solution compliance
- Act as a Functional Analyst when needed, assessing client needs for new MES and MOM implementations
- Engage in technical discussions with clients, offering expert insight into system capabilities
- Maintain alignment between existing systems and new implementations
- Analyze user needs and translate them into technical solutions
- Develop and troubleshoot front-end logic and integration points with third-party systems such as ERP and automation platforms
- Support system modifications and enhancements across the full lifecycle
- Identify potential implementation risks and collaborate on mitigation strategies
- Evaluate applications for security, performance, and architectural weaknesses and recommend improvements
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience with Siemens MES Camstar and/or Opcenter solutions
- Proven experience integrating MES with automation systems such as DeltaV, Siemens PCS7, SIMATIC Batch, and Rockwell PLCs/SCADA
- Proficiency in programming languages including C#, Java, C++, VBA/VBScript, or Python
- Experience with Mendix development platforms
- Familiarity with software release management across multiple environments (DEV, QA, PROD)
- Experience managing code repositories, including branching, merging, solution builds, deployment, and testing
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a related technical field
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Team Foundation Server or Jira for project and issue tracking
- Prior work in Application Management Services (AMS) or production support
- Ability to support critical systems in a 24x7 environment when required
- Solid understanding of manufacturing workflows in either discrete or process industries
Work Environment
This is a fully remote position with no onsite requirements, open to candidates located anywhere in the European Union.
