City of New York - Department of Consumer and Worker Protection (DCWP) is hiring a Mediator and Intake Specialist

Responsibilities

  • Engage with members of the public and business entities regarding concerns related to consumer rights
  • Evaluate, record, investigate, and address consumer issues in compliance with applicable regulations and legal standards
  • Ensure the integrity and accuracy of agency records by maintaining the central database and generating required reports
  • Conduct data input tasks and log comprehensive, precise notes into agency systems as necessary
  • Ensure each consumer inquiry receives prompt follow-up and is resolved efficiently
  • Respond to incoming calls and guide callers to the correct departments or resources without delay
  • Supply callers with thorough and correct information to address their inquiries
  • Manage incoming mail and process it according to established timelines
  • Cover front desk duties and support in-person visitors in submitting formal complaints
  • Develop instructional resources, update internal knowledge repositories, and conduct training when required
  • Carry out additional duties and special assignments as assigned by supervisors
