Responsibilities
- Interprets work orders or verbal guidance to identify materials requiring movement
- Handles printed sheets, folded signatures, labels, or in-process items by feeding, removing, flexing, jogging, or stacking as needed
- Manually loads and unloads materials to and from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves
- Loads freight into trucks and secures cargo with strapping, bracing, or padding using hand tools to prevent damage during transit
- Transports materials between storage areas and workstations using hand trucks, electric dollies, or similar equipment
- Counts, weighs, and logs quantities of materials handled on daily production records
- Applies identification tags or labels to materials or writes identifying information directly on containers
- Bundles materials and secures them with bands using a banding machine and clincher
- Operates automated machinery, industrial trucks, or electric hoists to support material movement and loading tasks
- Performs additional tasks as assigned by supervisors
