BMW Group was looking for a Material flow / Line side Intern

BMW Group is looking for a Material Flow / Line side Intern to join our team and support critical logistics planning initiatives across the plant. You will be a key member of the Material Flow and Lineside Planning Team, gaining hands-on experience with series changes and new vehicle launches in assembly halls and the bodyshop while integrating new logistics innovation projects.

What You'll Do

  • Support the implementation of autonomous logistics vehicles in the plant.
  • Run weekly and monthly reporting documents.
  • Organize and support lineside transitions for series packages.
  • Conduct logistics parts list checks and maintenance.
  • Perform headcount planning for logistics processes for new vehicle launches.
  • Plan floor space for part storage, including high bay racking, block storage, and supermarkets.
  • Plan material flow deliveries for future vehicle derivatives.
  • Maintain BMW layouts using layout software.
  • Manage projects and time effectively.
  • Train on the AGV Upper Level System (ATS).
  • Modify existing manual processes and structures to work with autonomous vehicles.

What We're Looking For

  • Current enrollment in Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, or a related field at an accredited four-year college or university in the United States.
  • Possess a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 (not just in major).
  • Have completed at least 30 credit hours at the time of application.
  • Transfer students must have a GPA from their current university.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
  • A detail-oriented and self-starting work ethic.
  • Ability to work full-time on-site (40 hours per week).
  • Must attach a copy of your unofficial transcript.
  • Must complete and pass a substance abuse test before the work term.
  • The work term dates are August 10th – December 11th, 2026.
