AECOM is hiring a Maritime Engineer

Responsibilities

  • Perform structural design and analysis of maritime and coastal assets using applicable standards such as BS, Eurocodes, PIANC, CIRIA, and ICE guidelines.
  • Create concept, preliminary, and detailed designs for new and upgraded facilities including quay walls, jetties, revetments, breakwaters, dolphins, linkspans, and associated components.
  • Evaluate structural stability, load-bearing capacity, and long-term durability under environmental stresses like waves, currents, and corrosion.
  • Design and specify fender systems, mooring configurations, and erosion control solutions.
  • Produce and assess technical documentation, including reports, drawings, specifications, and tender packages.
  • Conduct on-site inspections and structural condition assessments, and prepare corresponding evaluation reports.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, contractors, port operators, and regulatory agencies.
  • Work collaboratively with geotechnical, hydraulic, environmental, and coastal specialists in integrated project teams.
  • Ensure adherence to Health & Safety, Environmental, and CDM regulatory requirements.
  • Provide engineering support during construction, review contractor proposals, and resolve field-related technical issues.
  • Support team development through knowledge transfer, mentoring, and process improvements.
