Responsibilities
- Perform structural design and analysis of maritime and coastal assets using applicable standards such as BS, Eurocodes, PIANC, CIRIA, and ICE guidelines.
- Create concept, preliminary, and detailed designs for new and upgraded facilities including quay walls, jetties, revetments, breakwaters, dolphins, linkspans, and associated components.
- Evaluate structural stability, load-bearing capacity, and long-term durability under environmental stresses like waves, currents, and corrosion.
- Design and specify fender systems, mooring configurations, and erosion control solutions.
- Produce and assess technical documentation, including reports, drawings, specifications, and tender packages.
- Conduct on-site inspections and structural condition assessments, and prepare corresponding evaluation reports.
- Communicate effectively with clients, contractors, port operators, and regulatory agencies.
- Work collaboratively with geotechnical, hydraulic, environmental, and coastal specialists in integrated project teams.
- Ensure adherence to Health & Safety, Environmental, and CDM regulatory requirements.
- Provide engineering support during construction, review contractor proposals, and resolve field-related technical issues.
- Support team development through knowledge transfer, mentoring, and process improvements.
