Responsibilities
- Leads staff involved in large-scale painting, structural repairs to buildings, and upkeep of building systems including electrical, heating, and ventilation.
- Manages personnel responsible for installing, servicing, and repairing mechanical systems.
- Oversees maintenance and repair of plant machinery, buildings, and infrastructure.
- Applies expertise in electrical systems, industrial wiring, plumbing, welding, sheet metal, hydraulics, pneumatics, and instrumentation to ensure peak equipment performance.
- Uses understanding of automated equipment, including setup and disassembly, to support continuous operations.
- Reviews finished work to ensure compliance with technical drawings, specifications, and quality benchmarks.
- Develops and manages work schedules for maintenance teams.
- Assigns tasks and responsibilities to team members based on project needs.
- Communicates company policies to staff and ensures adherence to established practices.
- Identifies and resolves operational issues, or supports employees in finding solutions.
- Participates in construction, renovation, and modification of facilities.
- Ensures production equipment is maintained to organizational standards with minimal operational interruptions.
- Orders necessary tools, equipment, and supplies for maintenance activities.
- Develops and enforces preventive maintenance protocols.
- Oversees training initiatives for operations, preventive maintenance, and repair procedures.
- May supervise groundskeeping tasks including lawn care, debris removal, and snow clearing.
- May oversee custodial operations and cleaning services.
