Responsibilities
- Work individually and as part of a team to conduct open-source research and analysis in Mandarin Chinese-language using online sources, academic publications, gray literature, and in-house proprietary databases.
- Identify and collect data for analysis and to create finished reports.
- Write and edit finished analytic reports, ranging from short briefs to monograph-length studies.
- Engage with senior clients to discuss project needs and opportunities and to brief reports.
- Establish subject matter expertise in areas of analytic responsibility, including identifying key items for research and analysis and potential new data sources.
- Work with in-house software developers to identify and assist collection and processing of Mandarin Chinese documents and structured data.
Requirements
- Proficiency in Mandarin Chinese language
- Ability to conduct open-source research and analysis in Mandarin Chinese
- Experience writing and editing analytic reports
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Willingness to engage with senior clients to discuss project needs and brief reports
- Ability to establish subject matter expertise in areas of analytic responsibility
- Experience working with software developers on data collection and processing
