Responsibilities
- Review applications for child care licensing to ensure completeness and accuracy
- Conduct on-site inspections of child care facilities
- Verify adherence to state health, safety, and operational standards
- Communicate licensing requirements to providers in both English and Spanish
- Document findings from compliance evaluations
- Provide technical assistance to child care providers
- Follow up on corrective actions for non-compliance issues
- Maintain accurate records in departmental databases
- Respond to public inquiries about child care licensing
- Collaborate with regional and state-level teams on compliance initiatives
- Support emergency preparedness compliance for facilities
- Interpret regulations for providers and stakeholders
- Assist in updating licensing policies and procedures
- Participate in interagency coordination efforts
- Conduct outreach to underserved communities
- Ensure accessibility compliance in child care settings
- Monitor provider adherence to staffing and training requirements
- Evaluate facility capacity and space compliance
- Support investigations related to child care safety concerns
- Train new staff on licensing protocols and systems
