About the Role
The counselor will deliver clinical services to individuals facing mental health challenges, using evidence-based practices to support emotional well-being and recovery.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments for new clients
- Develop individualized treatment plans based on clinical findings
- Provide individual counseling services to clients across the lifespan
- Lead group therapy sessions on targeted emotional and behavioral topics
- Maintain accurate and confidential client records in compliance with regulations
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate client care
- Monitor client progress and adjust treatment strategies as needed
- Offer crisis intervention and emergency mental health support
- Refer clients to community resources and specialized services
- Adhere to ethical standards set by professional licensing boards
- Participate in regular clinical supervision and professional development
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA and other privacy regulations
- Document treatment progress and session summaries promptly
- Engage in outreach activities to promote mental health awareness
- Support clients in developing coping strategies and emotional resilience
Nice to Have
- Experience working in community mental health settings
- Familiarity with cognitive behavioral therapy techniques
- Training in dialectical behavior therapy
- Bilingual abilities in English and Spanish
- Previous telehealth service delivery experience
- Specialization in treating anxiety, depression, or PTSD
- Knowledge of adolescent development and family systems
