About the Role

Lead, develop, and manage a team of paralegals within a globally connected legal services environment. Reporting to the Head of Legal Services, this role ensures efficient, compliant, and high-quality delivery of legal support across diverse work streams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with leadership to uphold strict adherence to time recording, compliance protocols, and operational best practices
  • Oversee daily team operations, ensuring smooth workflow, timely matter allocation, and clear communication with instructing lawyers
  • Guide paralegals through complex legal tasks, offering clarity on core legal principles and supporting professional growth
  • Monitor financial performance of matters, including work in progress and billing hygiene, to support firm-wide efficiency
  • Manage recruitment, onboarding, performance reviews, and development planning for paralegal staff
  • Act as a point of escalation for quality control, identifying risks early and implementing corrective measures
  • Strengthen internal and external client relationships by aligning service delivery with commercial objectives
  • Represent the team in business development, brand outreach, and community engagement across the North East
  • Partner with legal transformation teams to refine service models and identify new opportunities for impact
  • Stay current with legal trends, firm practices, and industry innovations to maintain service excellence

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates should bring proven experience supervising legal support staff in a corporate or commercial setting, with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to lead in a fast-moving environment. A background in law is highly valued, and prior experience in mentoring junior professionals is essential. The ideal candidate communicates clearly, acts with professionalism, and fosters a collaborative team culture.
