Responsibilities
- Provide legal guidance on VA-related disciplinary actions, coaching documentation, and PIP enforcement.
- Advise Operations, QA, and People teams on compliant handling of performance and behavioral issues.
- Draft and review legal documents including PIP templates, termination notices, compliance advisories, and dispute correspondence.
- Conduct fact-finding investigations and assess potential legal exposure in coaching or disciplinary escalations.
- Represent or prepare responses for employment-related claims, mediation, or arbitration involving VAs or internal personnel.
- Ensure all VA management procedures comply with Philippine labor laws and internal governance standards.
- Collaborate with Compliance and HR to strengthen policy frameworks and documentation for due process and fairness.
- Provide training and guidance to supervisors and People Ops staff on legal documentation and defensible performance management practices.
- Maintain detailed records of legal actions, case resolutions, and preventive recommendations.
- Serve as the liaison between Operations and external legal counsel, when escalations require formal representation.
Requirements
- Licensed Philippine attorney in good standing (mandatory).
- Minimum 4–6 years of post-bar experience in labor law, employment disputes, or corporate legal advisory.
- Proven background handling PIPs, disciplinary cases, or performance-related legal documentation.
- Strong understanding of Philippine Labor Code, DOLE processes, and remote workforce applicability.
- Excellent writing, negotiation, and advisory communication skills.
- High discretion, ethical judgment, and ability to manage sensitive or confidential matters.
Nice to Have
- Prior experience as in-house legal counsel for a BPO, tech, or remote staffing company.
- Familiarity with international client contracts and cross-border employment considerations.
- Knowledge of data privacy, compliance, or internal investigation procedures.
- Training background in employee relations or risk mitigation.
