Lead Speciality Software Engineer – Blockchain Development
Role Overview
Lead the design and implementation of a high-integrity blockchain platform using modern distributed systems architecture. This role centers on developing core protocol components with the Cosmos SDK, implementing advanced consensus logic through ABCI++, and enabling interoperability across chains via the Inter-Blockchain Communication (IBC) protocol. You will shape technical direction, ensure code quality through rigorous testing, and support the deployment and ongoing operation of a secure, production-grade network.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain foundational blockchain modules in Go, including a role-based token factory for issuing native assets.
- Implement custom application logic within the ABCI++ framework, specifically Prepare-Proposal and Process-Proposal handlers, to support advanced consensus behavior.
- Configure and manage blockchain network deployment, covering genesis setup, validator operations, and tuning of consensus parameters.
- Enable cross-chain communication by integrating and maintaining IBC connections between independent blockchains.
- Write comprehensive test suites—unit, integration, and end-to-end—to validate protocol correctness, security, and performance.
- Participate in system architecture planning, conduct in-depth code reviews, and maintain detailed technical documentation.
- Diagnose and resolve critical issues across development, testing, and live environments.
Required Qualifications
Minimum of five years of specialized software engineering experience, demonstrated through professional work, education, training, or military background.
Preferred Skills
- Proven background in backend or distributed systems development.
- Advanced proficiency in Go, with hands-on experience building and maintaining Cosmos SDK modules.
- Familiarity with CometBFT consensus mechanics and the ABCI/ABCI++ interface.
- Direct experience launching or contributing to Cosmos-based networks.
- Strong commitment to writing clean, testable, and well-documented code.
- Experience deploying blockchain applications in cloud environments, particularly GCP.
- Working knowledge of Rust, including the ability to analyze and develop services in the language.
