Responsibilities
- Guide a small engineering team in delivering roadmap features on schedule while maintaining quality, speed, technical risk, and business priorities
- Take responsibility for feature delivery by direct reports, ensuring proper scoping, estimation, sequencing, implementation, testing, merging, and release
- Oversee technical estimates from the team, ensuring they are realistic, consider dependencies and risks, and enable accurate roadmap planning
- Collaborate with product managers, producers, QA, design, art, and other stakeholders to align technical execution with business goals and player experience
- Track game performance metrics including stability, crash rates, frame rate, and post-release regressions; identify risks and lead mitigation efforts
- Establish and uphold standards for code quality, maintainability, implementation practices, and code reviews across the team
- Coach engineers on technical execution, code standards, player experience, platform-specific constraints, and sound engineering decisions
- Proactively enhance game quality by identifying improvements in responsiveness, polish, stability, performance, and user experience
- Work with leadership and senior engineers to define technical initiatives, assess roadmap risks, and set technical priorities
- Support people management duties including onboarding, feedback, performance tracking, development planning, and alignment with career levels
