Responsibilities
- Creates and updates probabilistic risk models for nuclear facilities using logic and sequence-based simulation of fault conditions, applying core competencies in data analysis, human reliability, accident progression, severe accident behavior, and radiological release estimation.
- Collaborates across technical domains to integrate risk insights into design decisions and effectively communicates analytical outcomes to colleagues, leadership, and clients.
- Evaluates regulatory mandates to formulate risk-based strategies that enhance nuclear system safety and reliability while generating cost efficiencies for customers.
- Applies comprehensive understanding of nuclear operations to support the creation of digital tools for data handling, equipment monitoring, and analytical improvements in plant performance.
- Delivers expert mentorship and instruction to engineers, technical specialists, and management staff at all experience levels.
- Serves as a technical representative with clients, nuclear regulatory bodies, and industry forums.
- Publishes and presents advanced PRA research in journals and at professional conferences.
- Leads assigned organizational initiatives, programs, and personnel with managerial oversight.
- Supports the PRA Technical Leader by defining project plans and scopes for client proposals and internal work execution.
- Applies specialized technical expertise to shape strategic direction, influence resource allocation, and guide policy development within the domain.
- Interprets internal and external business issues and suggests proven methods to enhance products, processes, or services while tracking relevant industry developments.
- Exercises advanced judgment in resolving complex challenges in operations, engineering, or technology, evaluating data quality, engaging stakeholders, and proposing innovative solutions using cross-functional inputs.
- May manage low-risk, low-complexity projects or functional teams, conveying technical concepts clearly and influencing decision-making through alternative perspectives.
