Lead the development and optimization of enterprise-grade data integration systems within a major energy organization. This remote contract position requires a seasoned developer with deep expertise in Informatica Intelligent Data Management Cloud (IDMC) to drive the design and implementation of secure, high-performance data workflows across hybrid and cloud environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and deliver end-to-end data integration architectures using IDMC components including Cloud Data Integration (CDI), Cloud Application Integration (CAI), Data Quality (DQ), and API Manager.
- Translate business needs into robust, scalable data pipelines supporting real-time and batch processing at scale.
- Define and enforce development standards for data quality, metadata consistency, and governance across teams.
- Integrate complex data streams from energy-specific sources such as SCADA systems, IoT sensors, ERP platforms, and market data feeds.
- Implement automated data cleansing, profiling, and validation rules to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Collaborate with data architects, business analysts, and domain experts across trading, grid operations, and customer services.
- Mentor junior engineers and promote best practices in IDMC development and cloud data engineering.
- Monitor production pipeline performance, troubleshoot issues, and support release cycles from development to deployment.
- Evaluate emerging features in IDMC and adjacent technologies to enhance data platform capabilities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in data integration, with at least 3 years focused on Informatica Cloud or IDMC platforms.
- Proven mastery of IDMC services: CDI, CAI, DQ, and API Manager.
- Strong command of SQL and experience with cloud data warehouses such as Snowflake, Azure Synapse, Redshift, or BigQuery.
- Solid understanding of ETL/ELT patterns, data modeling, and lifecycle management.
- Hands-on experience integrating data across on-premises, cloud, and hybrid infrastructures.
Preferred Background
- Direct experience in the energy industry, especially with asset, operational, or market data systems.
- Familiarity with SCADA, IoT/OT networks, ETRM platforms, or utility billing environments.
- Prior leadership in managing development teams or large-scale integration initiatives.
- Informatica IDMC or cloud platform certifications (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) are a plus.
- Working knowledge of DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, Git, and Infrastructure-as-Code practices.
