About the Role
The Lead Energy Technician oversees field implementation of energy-saving measures, ensures technical accuracy, and supports team development while maintaining safety and compliance across all assigned projects.
Responsibilities
- Supervise field teams during energy efficiency installations
- Conduct on-site assessments of mechanical and electrical systems
- Ensure all work complies with safety protocols and technical guidelines
- Train junior technicians on proper installation methods
- Perform quality assurance checks on completed work
- Maintain accurate records of equipment and materials used
- Troubleshoot system performance issues in real time
- Coordinate with project managers to meet deadlines
- Deliver technical feedback for program improvement
- Lead equipment commissioning and startup procedures
- Verify system functionality post-installation
- Support development of field work instructions
- Respond to client inquiries regarding system operations
- Monitor job site conditions for safety hazards
- Assist in inventory management of technical supplies
- Provide input on technician scheduling and resource needs
- Ensure adherence to environmental and regulatory standards
- Conduct performance testing on energy-saving devices
- Lead team briefings before project execution
- Document field observations and corrective actions
- Support continuous improvement of field processes
- Assist in developing training materials for new technologies
- Evaluate contractor work when applicable
- Maintain certification requirements for technical roles
- Promote a culture of safety and accountability
Nice to Have
