AECOM is hiring a Lead Design Engineer (Water)

Lead the technical execution of critical water, wastewater, and flood resilience projects, overseeing design from initial concept to final handover. You will coordinate multidisciplinary teams to develop practical, innovative engineering solutions that meet client and regulatory requirements across domestic and global markets.

What You'll Do

Take ownership of key engineering packages, ensuring technical excellence and seamless integration across project phases. Collaborate directly with clients, partners, and internal specialists to align design strategies with stakeholder objectives. Champion new approaches that enhance performance, sustainability, and value throughout the project lifecycle.

Provide leadership and mentorship to junior engineers, guiding their technical growth and day-to-day contributions. Support broader organisational capability by engaging with technical networks and contributing to knowledge sharing across the practice.

Requirements

Proven experience leading engineering design on water infrastructure projects, with a strong grasp of regulatory standards and delivery processes. Demonstrated ability to manage complex technical workstreams and lead teams in a hybrid delivery environment. Strong communication skills and experience engaging with clients and stakeholders are essential.
