Tilt is hiring a Lead Data Scientist, Methodologies

Responsibilities

  • Design and evaluate novel modeling strategies leveraging deep learning models such as transformers, embeddings, and neural networks.
  • Enhance and maintain scalable frameworks that integrate with current machine learning workflows to strengthen credit risk assessment and loss forecasting.
  • Collaborate with data scientists, engineers, and product teams to convert complex analytical concepts into deployable solutions.
  • Explore cutting-edge representation learning methods, including pretraining and fine-tuning, using real-world financial datasets.
  • Disseminate research insights and support team development to expand organizational expertise in deep learning.
  • Assess model performance not only on predictive accuracy but also on tangible improvements for customers and business partners.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in deep learning, including neural networks, embeddings, or transformer-based models.
  • Proficiency with modern machine learning libraries such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, or equivalent tools.
  • Demonstrated application of machine learning to practical challenges, preferably in financial domains like credit, lending, payments, or banking.
  • Ability to align data science initiatives with quantifiable business results.
  • Strong communication skills with a capacity to convey technical concepts clearly and effectively.
