Mithun is hiring a Landscape Designer

A Landscape Designer with 5-10 years of experience is sought to join the Los Angeles office and help grow the firm's local landscape architecture practice. The individual will contribute to sustainable, community-driven design projects of varying scales, working closely with multidisciplinary teams based in Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Seattle.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate as part of an integrated design team that includes landscape architects, architects, interior designers, and urban planners.
  • Manage diverse aspects of site design and planning, including marketing efforts, project coordination, community outreach, design analysis, and documentation.
  • Create conceptual diagrams, design sketches, renderings, physical and digital models, and presentation graphics to support design development and client communication.
  • Mentor early-career designers across disciplines and support their professional growth.
  • Engage in research, writing, and exploratory design initiatives to advance practice knowledge.
  • Participate in team meetings focused on discipline-specific topics and share project insights across studios.
  • Develop construction drawings and detailed documentation with a strong emphasis on technical precision.
  • Review and revise drawing sets to maintain quality, accuracy, and consistency across project phases.
  • Support the creation and refinement of technical specifications for materials and construction methods.
  • Demonstrate initiative and the ability to work independently while contributing to team goals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in landscape architecture (BLA, BSLA, or MLA).
  • 5 to 10 years of professional experience after graduation.
  • Strong conceptual thinking and proficiency in visual communication, whether hand-drawn or digital.
  • Excellent verbal communication, public speaking, and presentation abilities.
  • Proven track record of delivering work on time and meeting key design milestones.
  • Commitment to sustainable design principles and practices.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, and Bluebeam.

Nice to Have

  • Project management experience, especially in coordinating consultants and facilitating collaboration.
  • Familiarity with Revit, ArcGIS, Rhino, Grasshopper, and Lumion is advantageous.

Compensation

Expected annual salary range is $88,000 to $105,000. Actual pay will vary based on experience, qualifications, internal equity, and location. Includes opportunity for an annual discretionary bonus.

Work Arrangement

Hybrid work model in Los Angeles, CA — required in the office Monday through Thursday; Friday can be worked in-office or remotely for most roles.

Part of an integrated design team with offices in Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Seattle. The team includes landscape architects, architects, interior designers, and urban planners working collaboratively across disciplines.
