Responsibilities
- Independently troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, and service electrical systems, equipment, and components in commercial and industrial environments
- Respond to service calls and identify root causes of electrical issues, implementing effective and code-compliant solutions
- Perform installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems, including panels, circuits, lighting, and equipment
- Read and interpret electrical drawings, blueprints, one-line diagrams, and specifications to execute work accurately
- Interface directly with customers to explain issues, outline repair solutions, and provide recommendations for system improvements or preventative maintenance
- Maintain a high level of professionalism while working in customer-occupied facilities and representing the company in the field
- Identify additional service needs, deficiencies, or upgrade opportunities and communicate findings to appropriate internal stakeholders
- Complete detailed service documentation, including work performed, materials used, and time tracking
- Ensure all work is performed in compliance with NEC, state/local codes, and company safety standards
- Maintain assigned tools, equipment, and company vehicle in a safe and operational condition
- Provide guidance and direction to Apprentice Technicians on job sites
- Support emergency service calls, after-hours work, and critical response situations as required
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Active Texas Journeyman Electrician’s License
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Ability to meet company requirements for driving a company vehicle, including ongoing motor vehicle record (MVR) compliance
- 5+ years of electrical, construction, or related field experience
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, components, and troubleshooting methodologies in commercial and industrial environments
- Proven ability to independently diagnose and resolve electrical issues using structured problem-solving techniques
- Ability to read and interpret complex electrical drawings, schematics, and specifications
- Working knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and applicable safety standards
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to identify root causes and implement effective solutions
- Effective communication skills with the ability to clearly explain technical issues and solutions to customers
- Strong customer service skills, including professionalism, responsiveness, and the ability to build trust with clients
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while managing multiple service calls
- Strong time management and organizational skills in a fast-paced service environment
- Ability to identify potential risks, deficiencies, and improvement opportunities within electrical systems
Nice to Have
- Completion of coursework in electrical theory, construction trades, or a related field
- OSHA 30 certification preferred (or willingness to obtain within a specified timeframe)
