Responsibilities
- Divide time between supervising software engineering tasks and supporting multimedia or artist development activities, each for four hours daily.
- Serve as a sounding board for interns by listening to their explanations of coding logic or audiovisual workflows to help them detect mistakes in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Pro Tools, or DaVinci Resolve.
- Cultivate a respectful, professional, and productive work atmosphere aligned with standards in tech and creative fields.
- Offer practical coaching and career skill development in an authentic work setting without directly executing technical assignments.
- Guide interns through all stages of project execution, from initial design to final deployment, ensuring proper use of tools like GitLab, Figma, and production software.
- Support interns in defining personal objectives, creating action plans, and developing skills in self-advocacy.
- Organize and lead virtual meetings for participants and act as the main communication link between interns and executive leadership.
- Report any behavior that breaches legal or institutional policies to facility authorities and rely on security personnel during urgent situations.
- Handle scheduling, documentation, and administrative duties such as performance reviews and CDCR 1697 timekeeping forms.
- Supervise learning and production spaces, manage equipment assigned to the program, and coordinate software setup and updates.
- Collaborate with facility staff to arrange vendor access with advance notice and keep updated records of equipment requirements.
- Ensure compliance with legal posting requirements by distributing mandated notices to new hires and displaying them in visible areas.
