Responsibilities
- Own the end-to-end development lifecycle, from solution design and implementation to production deployment and support
- Design and implement scalable big data solutions using Java, contributing to the platform’s infrastructure and architecture
- Lead complex technical initiatives that directly impact the company’s core business
- Mentor other developers and support them in solving complex technical challenges
- Research and evaluate core technologies, external APIs, and third-party service integrations
- Collaborate with Product, Engineering, data providers, and other stakeholders to deliver reliable solutions
Requirements
- 5+ years of commercial software development experience with Java
- Strong knowledge of algorithms and data structures
- Hands-on experience with Kafka, streaming systems, and microservices
- Production experience with big data technologies
- Experience with SQL databases
- Experience designing, developing, and scaling high-load systems
- Ability and willingness to investigate and work with an existing legacy codebase
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to investigate production issues and understand both technical components and related business processes
- Proactive and reliable approach to solving problems, proposing improvements, and introducing new technical solutions
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with a team-oriented and ego-free mindset
- English level: B1 or higher, with the ability to communicate clearly in meetings
- Willingness to participate in an off-hours PagerDuty rotation
Nice to Have
- Experience with Apache Spark, Hadoop, or MapReduce
- Experience with Kubernetes
- Familiarity with GitLab, Grafana, InfluxDB, Apache Airflow, Redis, or Scala
