We're building intelligent systems that transform how developers interact with code. As a Senior Backend Engineer, you'll play a central role in creating tools that embed AI deeply into engineering processes—automating complex refactoring, enabling large-scale migrations, and improving code quality across the organization.
What You'll Do
- Design and implement backend systems that integrate AI coding tools like Cursor and Claude Code into everyday development environments and collaboration platforms such as Slack and Google Docs
- Empower engineering teams by building scalable solutions that streamline adoption of AI-augmented workflows
- Lead the development of automation frameworks that reduce manual effort in system-wide code transformations
- Optimize and maintain CI/CD pipelines in GitLab, ensuring reliable delivery of tooling updates
- Support and evolve build infrastructure to remain robust under AI-driven changes
- Translate intricate technical requirements into production-ready systems in a fast-moving environment
What We're Looking For
- Proven expertise in Java, TypeScript, JavaScript, or Python
- Real-world experience integrating AI into software architecture—not just surface-level features
- Familiarity with AI development tools such as Cursor, Windsurf, Amp, and Claude Code
- Strong command of GitLab CI/CD, Docker, and Kubernetes for scalable deployment
- Background in testing strategies and managing large-scale codebase migrations
- Experience working in Agile, remote-first teams with strong written communication skills in English
Nice to Have
- Hands-on experience with Gradle, especially in dependency and package management
- History of enabling other teams through technical leadership or advocacy
- Working knowledge of cloud platforms like AWS or GCP
Work Environment
This is a remote-first role open to candidates in LATAM. You must be able to work full business hours aligned with US Central Time to ensure collaboration and coordination across teams.
