Truelogic Software is looking for an Informix Migration Consultant to lead the assessment and modernization of a mission-critical legacy system built on Informix database and 4GL applications for our client in the Advertising sector. Based in Brazil, you will conduct a thorough analysis, define a migration strategy, and develop a roadmap to transition to a modern, scalable solution while ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
What You'll Do
- Perform a comprehensive audit of existing Informix databases and 4GL applications, documenting architecture, dependencies, and business logic.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to capture new system requirements, including security, scalability, performance, and reliability needs.
- Research and recommend modern database and application solutions to replace the legacy Informix environment.
- Develop a detailed migration plan, including risk assessment, phased execution, and rollback strategies.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to the development team throughout the migration process.
- Ensure data integrity, application functionality, and performance optimization post-migration.
What We're Looking For
- Expert-level knowledge of IBM Informix (database administration, SQL, stored procedures, and performance tuning).
- Deep experience with Informix 4GL (development, debugging, and modernization).
- Proven track record in migrating Informix-based systems to modern platforms (e.g., PostgreSQL, Oracle, SQL Server, or cloud-native databases).
- Strong understanding of database migration tools and methodologies.
- Ability to analyze legacy code, identify inefficiencies, and recommend optimization strategies.
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
