About the Role

Responsibilities
- Lead infection prevention programs in surgical and perioperative settings
- Conduct routine surveillance for healthcare-associated infections
- Investigate and respond to infection outbreaks promptly
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and accreditation standards
- Collaborate with clinical teams to implement best practices
- Develop and deliver training on infection control protocols
- Analyze infection data to identify trends and risk factors
- Support audit processes for sterile techniques and protocols
- Participate in policy development and revision
- Monitor adherence to hand hygiene and PPE guidelines
- Coordinate with environmental services for infection control
- Assist in preparing for regulatory inspections
- Maintain accurate records of infection incidents
- Promote a culture of patient safety
- Evaluate new technologies and procedures for infection risk
- Work with occupational health on staff exposure cases
- Report findings to leadership and quality committees
- Support antimicrobial stewardship efforts
- Conduct root cause analyses for infection events
- Ensure proper isolation precautions are followed
- Engage in continuous quality improvement projects
- Stay current with public health guidelines and updates
- Facilitate communication between departments on infection issues
- Assist in onboarding and training new staff
- Promote evidence-based infection prevention practices
