Responsibilities

• Prepare and file immigration applications such as Labour Market Impact Assessments, ensuring all submissions are accurate and complete to reduce the likelihood of refusal.
• Advocate for clients in legal forums, including appeals at the Immigration and Refugee Board of Canada, applications for judicial review in the Federal Court, and mandamus proceedings to compel government action.
• Assess the validity of claims made by asylum seekers and refugees, represent them during IRB hearings, draft comprehensive statements, and compile supporting evidence.
• Monitor updates in immigration legislation and policy to provide clients with current, compliant legal guidance.
