This role is for an experienced HR professional who will provide in-country expertise across Italy and select Southern European markets. As a trusted advisor, you'll manage the full employee journey—from onboarding to offboarding—ensuring compliance with local labor regulations and delivering a seamless experience for employees and clients alike.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the main point of contact for HR-related matters, including employee relations, contract reviews, and workforce planning
- Handle sensitive employee cases with discretion, preparing clear documentation and participating in meetings as needed
- Advise on Italian employment law, cultural norms, and risk mitigation strategies to support compliant decision-making
- Partner with payroll providers, benefits brokers, and legal advisors to coordinate services effectively
- Support immigration and mobility requests in collaboration with global mobility specialists
- Lead process improvements by identifying automation opportunities and driving adoption of AI and digital tools
- Contribute to global HR initiatives that standardize practices and improve efficiency across regions
- Document workflows and delegate tasks appropriately to maintain continuity during transitions
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years in HR roles with direct experience in Italy
- Fluency in both Italian and English is required
- Proven understanding of Italian labor law and experience with Staff Leasing and Tertiary NCBA frameworks
- Familiarity with employment regulations in Southern Europe, including Greece, is a plus
- Strong skills in conflict resolution, negotiation, and cross-cultural communication
- Comfortable using HRIS, Zendesk, Jira, Confluence, Tableau, Zoom, and Slack
- Background in the Employer of Record sector is beneficial but not required
