Responsibilities

  • As a compensation partner to the business, works closely with HR Business Partners and business leaders to understand their needs, evaluate and benchmark their roles, and support offer and other award development.
  • Continuously audit data to maintain data integrity and make recommendations based on analyses. Review and maintain job codes and titles in SuccessFactors system to ensure consistency, accuracy and accessibility. Analyze data and reports to identify trends / insights that will influence business decisions.
  • Support job mapping project; identify areas of concern and explain mapping decisions and FLSA implications; maintain mapping files and related documentation. Review job descriptions to assess appropriate market benchmarks and to determine pay level.
  • Participate in compensation surveys. Support the analysis of results and implications to Hershey’s compensation levels and practices when survey results are returned as well as the data integrity and maintenance of Hershey data within our Compensation tool, PayFactors.
  • Support project work, such as reorganizations, redesign of processes for efficiency, and other projects that arise from time-to-time through analysis of data and research of supporting materials.
  • Support compensation year-end program activities, including audits of data and program cost exercises as well as updates to program brochures and knowledge articles.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required in Human Resources, Business, Finance, or related field.
  • 3-5 years in Compensation or related experience with proven analytical and computer software capabilities.
  • Systematically gathers information from a variety of sources, analyzes information, identifies implications of data, draws appropriate conclusions, generates viable alternative solutions to a question or problem, and evaluates the consequences of choosing each alternative. This includes recognizing when a problem exists and taking proactive steps to resolve the problem.
  • Sets priorities, plans, and coordinates work activities to maximize productivity. Remains focused on the priorities for the day and avoids being sidetracked by less important tasks and activities. Develops plans with long-range horizons based upon sound knowledge of the needs of the organization, function, and/or client/ customers. Anticipates obstacles and develops contingency plans for their use in the event a plan becomes unworkable. Prioritizes objectives to enable the selection allocation of attention and resources.
  • Establishes and maintains constructive and effective relationships built upon trust. Uses diplomacy and tact to diffuse even high-tension situations. Works to find common ground and mutually beneficial solutions to conflicts. Relates well to all kinds of people, up, down and sideways, inside and outside the organization. Can represent his/her own interest and yet be fair to other groups. Viewed by others as a team player.

  • Monitors federal, state, and local compensation laws and regulations in order to ensure company compliance. Keeps abreast of all relevant laws and emerging regulations.
