Responsibilities
- Serve patients within a specified local region
- Deliver individualized, one-on-one therapy sessions
- Assess patient conditions and create customized therapy plans in accordance with medical directives and personal needs
- Administer treatment that follows clinical standards, organizational guidelines, and prescribed care protocols
- Instruct family members, home health aides, and other caregivers in appropriate therapeutic methods
- Design and implement occupational therapy programs aimed at maintaining or restoring physical abilities, reducing discomfort, and preventing functional decline
- Conduct and record initial patient evaluations, analyzing findings to define issues and establish diagnoses before treatment begins
- Ensure accurate and prompt documentation for every patient visit
- Monitor treatment progress over time and modify interventions as needed to maximize effectiveness
- Be prepared to work with elderly patients
