About the Role
This position is responsible for implementing health and safety standards, conducting risk assessments, ensuring compliance with local and international regulations, and supporting safety training programs across sites.
Responsibilities
- Monitor compliance with occupational health and safety regulations
- Conduct regular site inspections and safety audits
- Identify workplace hazards and recommend corrective actions
- Support incident investigations and root cause analysis
- Maintain up-to-date safety documentation and records
- Deliver safety training sessions to employees and contractors
- Collaborate with local teams to adapt global policies to regional requirements
- Track health and safety performance metrics and report findings
- Ensure emergency preparedness plans are in place and tested
- Advise management on health and safety risks and mitigation strategies
- Promote a culture of safety awareness across departments
- Coordinate with external agencies and inspectors as needed
- Review safety procedures for new or modified processes
- Assist in the development of safety policies and standards
- Support sustainability and environmental health initiatives
- Manage personal protective equipment programs
- Track and analyze injury and illness trends
- Ensure compliance with fire safety regulations
- Work with HR on return-to-work programs for injured employees
- Stay current with changes in health and safety legislation
