As Head of Platform Data Science, you will lead a group of approximately 20 data professionals across three core teams: Product Platform Data, Infrastructure Data, and Central Data Science. Your leadership will define the strategic direction of data capabilities that support a platform used by hundreds of millions worldwide.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and develop a large team of data specialists, fostering technical depth and collaborative problem-solving
- Collaborate with senior engineering and platform leaders to define and implement long-term data strategies for infrastructure and developer-facing systems
- Oversee the evolution of critical data infrastructure, including the experimentation platform, observability pipelines, and performance analytics
- Champion data-driven decision-making to improve system reliability, scalability, and engineering efficiency
- Guide analytics initiatives that inform how large-scale systems are designed, monitored, and optimized
- Shape investment priorities in AI and advanced analytics to enhance capacity planning, cost efficiency, and system insights
- Coordinate roadmap planning and resource allocation across interconnected data teams with distinct but aligned missions
What You Bring
- Proven experience leading data science teams at scale, delivering measurable impact in complex technical environments
- Ability to design and evolve data roadmaps in close partnership with engineering and product leadership
- Deep understanding of experimentation frameworks, system performance modeling, and scalable data automation
- Strong communication skills with the ability to translate technical insights for diverse audiences
- Track record of managing cross-functional initiatives across multiple technical domains
