Lead the financial direction of a fast-growing AI-powered B2B marketplace and SaaS business. As Head of Finance, you'll play a central role in shaping commercial strategy, particularly in pricing model design, while maintaining rigorous financial oversight across all UK operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with executive leadership to define and refine pricing strategies for both the marketplace and SaaS offerings
- Own the end-to-end financial control cycle, including month-end close, P&L and balance sheet analysis, and reconciliation of revenue and inventory
- Lead cashflow forecasting, working capital planning, and operational expenditure decisions
- Design and implement foreign exchange hedging strategies and manage related financial risk
- Oversee commission accounting and margin deposit management tied to trading activities
- Address complex accounting areas including derivatives, equity instruments, and revenue recognition under UK standards
- Ensure accurate and timely filing of corporate and indirect tax returns, including VAT and Corporation Tax
- Manage R&D tax relief claims and support broader tax planning, including assessment of permanent establishment exposure
- Supervise monthly payroll processing, commission calculations, and PAYE compliance
- Administer employee equity programs, including option grants and cancellations, with proper HMRC valuation and accounting treatment
- Prepare detailed financial reports for investors, including monthly updates and responses to specific data requests
- Guide and develop junior finance staff, while managing banking relationships, insurance renewals, and legal-financial matters
Required Qualifications
- Professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA) with proven experience in a senior finance leadership role such as Lead Controller or Head of Finance
- Demonstrated success in enhancing or building financial processes and controls from the ground up
- Solid background in UK statutory reporting, tax compliance, audit coordination, and regulatory requirements
Preferred Experience
- Experience managing invoice or debt financing facilities and optimizing their structure
- Background in foreign exchange risk management, margin requirements, and working capital dynamics within trading or marketplace models
- Familiarity with share option schemes, cap table administration, and equity tracking tools
