Role Overview
As Head of Finance Partnering & Planning, you will serve as a key finance leader within the Pacific region, reporting directly to the Pacific CFO. This high-impact role shapes strategic direction by integrating financial planning, performance analysis, and business collaboration across New Zealand and the Pacific Islands. You'll lead a team focused on delivering clear, forward-looking financial insights that directly influence decision-making and long-term success.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee financial planning, forecasting, budgeting, and reporting for designated Pacific business units, shaping them into a cohesive financial story that guides future strategy
- Generate actionable financial insights that support commercial, operational, and strategic decisions at the senior leadership level
- Strengthen performance management frameworks to drive business growth and improve financial outcomes through proactive financial partnership
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, internal policies, and consistent application of accounting principles across all reporting lines
- Deliver accurate and timely financial data to meet both consolidated group and local statutory reporting requirements
- Act as a trusted advisor to regional leaders, helping turn strategic goals into measurable financial plans and results
- Build, mentor, and sustain a capable FP&A team with a focus on talent development, succession planning, and continuous capability uplift
- Foster a culture of accountability, curiosity, and improvement by balancing hands-on leadership with empowerment and coaching
- Develop strong relationships across internal teams, regional and global finance groups, and external partners, navigating complex, multi-jurisdictional dynamics
Qualifications & Experience
- Proven leadership experience in financial planning and analysis, with deep expertise in budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting
- Demonstrated ability to transform financial data into practical, customer-focused insights that guide confident decision-making
- Strong commercial judgment and technical finance skills, preferably within insurance or financial services
- Skilled at influencing senior stakeholders through constructive challenge, collaboration, and relationship-building
- Experience working in matrixed or offshore environments, with a commitment to inclusive and respectful cross-regional partnerships
- Track record as a people leader who fosters psychological safety, mentoring, and team performance
