Lead the future of enterprise AI as Head of Data Science, directing a high-impact team building Generative AI and Foundation Models. Based in Newport Beach, you'll shape how SAP customers transform data and code in the cloud, using advanced language models to solve complex business challenges.
What You’ll Do
- Build and lead a multidisciplinary team of data scientists and engineers, fostering technical excellence and innovation.
- Drive the development, refinement, and deployment of foundation models that accelerate customer adoption of cloud solutions.
- Align team strategy with the broader objectives of the Foundation Model unit, ensuring scalable and responsible AI practices.
- Collaborate with internal teams across Europe, India, and UC Irvine, as well as early-adopter customers, to refine real-world applications.
- Manage joint research initiatives with academic partners to advance state-of-the-art techniques in natural language processing and machine learning.
What We’re Looking For
- Advanced degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Machine Learning, or a closely related field.
- Proven leadership in managing data science teams, with a track record of mentoring and growing technical talent.
- Deep technical knowledge in machine learning, NLP, and large language models.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage technical and non-technical stakeholders alike.
- Experience leading cross-functional projects and academic-industry research collaborations.
