Role Overview
Lead the evolution of data at a high-growth financial technology company, where data is central to unlocking capital and shaping product innovation. As Head of Data, you'll shape the strategic direction of data engineering, analytics, and data science, ensuring alignment across risk, product, and engineering to deliver scalable, secure, and actionable data systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and guide a data organization focused on performance, ownership, and technical excellence, fostering a culture of innovation and accountability.
- Define and implement a unified data strategy that enables rapid, autonomous decision-making across departments.
- Collaborate with Risk and Engineering to design advanced credit models using non-traditional data signals, including transactional and operational data streams.
- Scale underwriting systems to support both proprietary lending and third-party loan book acquisitions.
- Develop and maintain a robust, automated data platform capable of processing high-volume, forward-looking data at scale.
- Optimize infrastructure for performance and cost efficiency as the business expands.
- Enforce strict standards for data quality, security, and regulatory compliance across all systems.
- Establish canonical data models to serve as the authoritative source for core business entities.
- Ensure engineering workflows are grounded in reliable, well-documented data foundations.
- Work closely with Risk, Product, and Sales to deliver insights, self-service tools, and monitoring systems that improve portfolio performance and revenue generation.
- Evaluate new data initiatives based on technical feasibility, scalability, and commercial impact.
Work Environment
This role supports a hybrid model, with primary locations in London and Warsaw. Remote work is available across Europe and the UK, with flexibility to balance in-person collaboration and distributed operations.
