Munich, Germany Hybrid

ticketbro is hiring a Hardware Engineer (f/m/d)

About the Role

As a Hardware Engineer, you will play a central role in evolving the self-checkout terminal used by providers across industries. Your work will focus on integrating hardware components—such as printers, payment systems, and scanners—with robust software solutions, ensuring seamless and reliable performance in real-world environments.

What You’ll Do

  • Design and implement hardware communication protocols using technologies like CUPS, JavaPOS, or ZVT to ensure smooth device integration
  • Collaborate with product and engineering teams to translate provider feedback into functional features
  • Develop and maintain frontend interfaces using React.js to support hardware interactions
  • Diagnose and resolve technical issues across the hardware-software stack
  • Contribute to GraphQL-based systems and leverage IoT fleet management tools such as Balena for remote device oversight
  • Propose and lead technical improvements that enhance system reliability and user experience

What We’re Looking For

You bring at least two years of experience in software development focused on hardware integration, with hands-on knowledge of device communication standards. Proficiency in React.js is essential, and familiarity with GraphQL and IoT management platforms is a strong advantage. You’re comfortable working in both German and English, and you’re ready to engage directly with provider teams to understand their needs.

Environment & Benefits

  • Work in a flat, interdisciplinary team where your input directly shapes product direction
  • Enjoy flexible hours and the freedom to work remotely or from our Munich office
  • Receive top-tier tools and equipment to support efficient, high-quality development
  • Take ownership of projects and grow through direct collaboration with leadership
  • Benefit from 30 days of annual leave and a culture that values innovation and personal development

Compensation & Work Model

This is a hybrid role, open to candidates in Munich or working remotely with occasional in-person collaboration. The position offers a competitive salary and a work environment built on trust, flexibility, and technical excellence. You’ll have the opportunity to influence not just a product, but the broader landscape of digital ticketing and self-service solutions.
