Responsibilities
- Determines which materials to move by reviewing work orders or following verbal guidance
- Feeds, removes, flexes, jogs, or stacks printed sheets, folded signatures, labels, or other work-in-progress items to or from assigned equipment
- Manually loads and unloads materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves
- Loads materials into trucks and secures them with strapping, bracing, or padding using hand tools to prevent movement or damage during transit
- Transports materials from storage or work locations to specified areas using hand trucks, electric dollies, or similar equipment
- Counts, weighs, and logs the number of material units handled or moved on daily production records
- Applies identifying tags or labels to materials or writes identifying information directly on cases, bales, or containers
- Stacks or arranges materials into bundles and fastens them using a banding machine and clincher
- Operates automated equipment, industrial trucks, or electric hoists to aid in moving or loading materials and products
