The Graphic Designer will lead the development of a cohesive corporate visual identity for the Agrarian Services Agency (ASA), establishing a professional and enduring brand presence. This includes conducting a thorough review of the agency’s mission, communication requirements, and current materials to inform a modern, scalable design system.
Key Responsibilities
- Research and analyze ASA’s institutional profile to shape a relevant and meaningful visual identity.
- Create at least five original logo concepts, each with a detailed rationale explaining symbolic elements and design intent.
- Produce multiple logo variations for different uses, including color, black-and-white, horizontal, vertical, and reversed versions for dark backgrounds.
- Presentation of concepts to ASA and FAO stakeholders, collection of feedback, and execution of up to two rounds of revisions to refine the chosen design.
- Finalize the selected logo in vector and raster formats (AI, EPS, SVG, PNG, JPG), ensuring suitability for print and digital media.
- Define clear usage rules for the logo, including spacing, minimum size, positioning, and co-branding protocols.
- Develop a consistent visual framework based on the final logo, covering color, typography, and layout standards.
- Establish primary and secondary color palettes with exact specifications in HEX, RGB, CMYK, and Pantone codes, along with application guidance.
- Set typography guidelines, including font selection, hierarchy, spacing, and usage across platforms.
- Compile a bilingual (Azerbaijani and English) Corporate Brandbook that documents the brand philosophy, visual elements, and detailed usage rules in a parallel format.
- Design standardized templates for stationery, digital communications, and other institutional materials aligned with ASA’s operational needs.
- Specify technical production requirements, including resolution (DPI), file formats, font handling, and digital integration standards.
- Create a 30–60 second animated infographic video to introduce the brandbook and its core principles.
- Integrate input from ASA, FAO, the Lead Technical Officer, and the REU Communication Office throughout the process to ensure alignment and accuracy.
- Ensure all deliverables meet FAO’s corporate communication and visibility standards and are submitted on time.
- Perform additional related tasks as assigned.
Design Principles
The designer will develop functional, audience-appropriate layouts that enhance the agency’s message. Designs must be technically sound, culturally appropriate, and visually engaging, reflecting both the nature of the institution and FAO’s corporate identity. The final outputs should balance innovation with clarity, ensuring long-term usability and consistency.
Required Qualifications
Candidates must hold a university degree or diploma in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, Arts, or a related field. A minimum of two years of professional experience in branding or visual communication is required. Proficiency in Azerbaijani is essential, with at least an intermediate level of English (Level B).
Preferred Qualifications
Prior work with FAO or other UN agencies, particularly familiarity with their branding and visibility policies, is considered an advantage.
Technical Requirements
The role requires expertise in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) and the ability to deliver files in AI, EPS, SVG, PNG, and JPG formats. Familiarity with FAO’s corporate communication tools and guidelines is necessary for compliance.
Commitment to Inclusion
FAO promotes diversity in gender, geography, and language. Applications are strongly encouraged from qualified women, nationals of under-represented member countries, and persons with disabilities. All submissions will be handled with full confidentiality. The organization enforces a zero-tolerance policy for behavior inconsistent with its mission, including sexual exploitation, abuse, and harassment.
