MyFlorida (Department of Management Services) is hiring a Government Operations Consultant III

Responsibilities

  • Act as a liaison between the Agency and the actuarial vendor.
  • Facilitate meetings and calls; keep track of notes and action items.
  • Procure and follow up on items needed by the actuarial vendor from within and outside of MDA.
  • Work with other units to ensure all issues impacting rate setting are conveyed to the actuarial vendor.
  • Keep track of items owed to and from the vendor.
  • Review deliverables for actuarial vendors, other vendors, another agency, or within AHCA for accuracy and consistency.
  • Ensure all delivery requirements are met.
  • Acts as point of contact for the unit to coordinate and facilitate regular communication on actuarial projects.
  • Provides timely feedback/responses to requests from leadership.
  • Assists the supervisor with facilitating meetings, coordinating or tracking requests, and developing project materials.
  • Provides assistance in responding to internal inquiries and external requests related to rate setting and other actuarial services unit projects and tasks.
  • Maintains detailed project logs tracking logs
  • Coordinates with unit and Agency staff to ensure that projects stay on schedule and resource needs are met.
  • Ensures that project deadlines are met and escalates tasks as needed.
  • Participates in rate setting as well as analyses, studies, or research projects.
  • Performs data analysis, including summarizing, reviewing, verifying, and reconciling data as needed for rate setting and other actuarial unit projects.
  • Creates reports under the direction of the supervisor to meet needs both internally and externally.
  • Assists with actuarial reporting including Federal rate filings.
  • Facilitates the finalization and implementation of rates.
  • Keep files organized on shared drive.
  • Attend meetings both internally with other units and bureaus within the Agency, as well as externally with health care plans.
  • Document, organize and standardize work processes, improve file quality, and speed up work process whenever possible.
  • Keep documentation on noteworthy events, monthly magic, and Agency payments.
  • Ensure the accuracy of work assigned through the development and use of reconciliation techniques.
  • Facilitate meetings and calls both with the actuarial vendor and other entities; keep track of notes and action items.
  • Show initiative and participate in brainstorming ways to improve all processes; propose new ideas to supervisor.
  • Participates in strategic planning for Agency goals.
  • Follow all unit, bureau, and Agency procedures.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Three years of professional experience in project management, business management, program planning/design, or program evaluation.
  • Two years of professional experience utilizing Access, SQL, Python, or other Database programs.

Nice to Have

  • Contract management experience overseeing administrative, programmatic, and financial operations.
