Responsibilities
- Oversee the electronic access control program for the organization, primarily in Lake County, while also supporting affiliate and global access initiatives.
- Ensure adherence to all corporate, divisional, and regulatory policies and requirements.
- Support group- and corporate-level projects and strategic initiatives as needed.
- Provide daily oversight of the Access Control program and serve as the primary business contact for contractor support.
- Deliver training and operational support on electronic access systems to frontline security, reception staff, and internal stakeholders.
- Manage the EPACS card access request portal, including processing badge access requests and cancellations.
- Monitor and respond to the Access Control mailbox and hotline, handling calls, voicemails, and email inquiries promptly.
- Maintain organized records of all access requests for future reference and compliance.
- Act as the central point of contact for Access Control contractor coordination within Global Security.
- Collaborate with security teams in non-Lake County locations to align badge access protocols and compatibility.
- Establish processes to grant appropriate access to employees across different sites as needed.
- Program access badges for restricted areas such as controlled drug storage, executive offices, and secure document rooms.
- Support internal teams including Human Resources, Talent Acquisition, and Employee Relations with access reporting and compliance tasks.
- Maintain an accurate Security Watch list and export time-stamped reports for investigations.
- Generate cardholder reports and keep logs of individuals with CDA, DEA, or AR status up to date.
- Verify completion of background screenings for contractors before issuing badge access.

Responsibilities
- Oversee the electronic access control program for AbbVie, primarily in Lake County, but also support affiliate and global access control initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with all Corporate, Divisional and regulatory policies or requirements.
- Support various initiatives and projects at the group and corporate level.
- Provide day to day oversight of the Access Control program and act as a Global Security business contact for Access Control contractor support.
- Provide support and training on electronic access control to Global Security Operations frontline staff (reception and security officers) and to other functions within the company, as appropriate.
- Administer and manage the EPACS card access request portal – processing system requests for badge access or removal, AbbVie Access Control mailbox and Access Control Hotline – answering phone calls and following up with voicemails, processing email requests/inquiries; appropriate filing of requests for future retrieval.
- Manage Access Control program needs and serve as the AbbVie Global Security contact for Access Control contractor support.
- Collaborate with AbbVie Security and Access Control personnel based in non-Lake County locations to identify badge access compatibility and/or establish processes for granting access to necessary employees.
- Program badges for access into restricted card reader-controlled areas – these areas include, but are not limited to: controlled drug areas, document filing areas, security areas, executive areas, etc.
- Support Global Security Operations, Talent Acquisition, Human Resources, Employee Relations, and contract service providers with responsibilities including maintaining an accurate Security Watch list, exporting date/time reports for investigations, exporting card holder reports, maintaining an accurate log of individuals with CDA/DEA/AR status designation.
- Verify required background screening requirements are completed by non-staff augmented contractors prior to receiving badge access.
- Troubleshoot and reconcile user badge issues in multiple access control systems.
- Create and modify access levels in the access control system and collaborate with appropriate access level owners.
- Complete quarterly audits of cardholder assignments to restricted areas and verify and update current approvers for restricted areas.
- Support Global Systems and Global Systems IT with Access Control aligned projects.
- Manage the physical inventory of badging supplies for Global Security Operations.
