Responsibilities
- Monitor and report on practice performance using recurring dashboards and regular progress updates.
- Oversee front-end implementation across multiple active client projects, ensuring adherence to scalable UI architecture standards in React and Next.js.
- Conduct code reviews and maintain consistent engineering quality across all teams.
- Define and enforce performance benchmarks, including Lighthouse scores, Core Web Vitals, and accessibility compliance, with actionable improvement plans.
- Ensure all interfaces are responsive, function consistently across browsers, and meet minimum WCAG 2.2 Level A standards, with readiness for Level AA.
- Promote the use and upkeep of Storybook, design tokens, and shared component libraries across projects.
- Advocate for AI-integrated front-end workflows, such as AI-assisted coding, RAG-enabled interfaces, and telemetry-driven user experiences.
- Plan and communicate hiring needs, staffing models, and strategies for growing the team.
- Recruit, onboard, and set clear expectations for new hires, including structured onboarding and probation evaluations.
- Conduct regular one-on-one meetings, provide continuous feedback, and support team members' performance and career growth.
- Administer performance reviews, address underperformance quickly, and collaborate with HR when formal steps are required.
- Manage core people operations, including approvals, staffing visibility, performance planning, and compensation discussions.
- Handle confidential personnel issues with care, including escalations, role transitions, offboarding, and knowledge transfer.
- Act as a trusted advisor to clients, colleagues, and executive leadership.
- Collaborate with Front-End Staff Developer, Experience Design, Architecture, Back-End, QA, Business Analysis, and PMO teams to define scope, reduce risk, and ensure reliable delivery.
- Support estimation and planning for front-end work, balancing technical quality with project timelines.
- Identify, track, and resolve project risks, blockers, and accumulated technical debt.
Requirements
- Minimum of 7 years of professional front-end development experience, with at least 5 years in a technical leadership or people management role.
- High level of expertise in TypeScript, React, and Next.js.
- Proven experience with advanced React patterns, including complex state management, server components, routing, and data fetching.
- Solid understanding of front-end architectural design and scalability for large-scale enterprise applications.
- Familiarity with UI/UX design principles, design systems, accessibility standards, and responsive design best practices.
Nice to Have
- Experience working with globally distributed teams, particularly across North and South America.
- Background in digital agencies or consulting firms serving enterprise clients.
- Hands-on experience with headless CMS and composable DXP platforms such as Contentstack, Optimizely, or Sitecore XM Cloud.
- Familiarity with AI-powered development tools and AI-enhanced interface patterns.
- Experience contributing to or managing a design system as a product.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

Leads front-end development practice across the US and Brazil; collaborates with Front-End Staff Developer; reports to VP of Development & Architecture.

- Works closely with Architects, Product Owners, QA, Project Managers, DevOps, and project leadership to ensure delivery aligns with approved technical direction, scope, timelines, and quality standards.
