Mindrift is looking for a Freelance Software Developer specializing in Python and Rust to join our project focused on advancing Generative AI. You will be a key contributor in improving AI models' specialized question answering and complex reasoning capabilities. This role offers a unique opportunity to directly influence how future AI models are trained and developed.
What You'll Do
- Analyze and understand existing codebases in Python or C/C++
- Migrate application logic to idiomatic, safe Rust while preserving full functionality
- Adapt or port test suites and rigorously ensure behavioral equivalence
- Document migration steps, technical decisions, and implementation rationale
- Create training prompts and refine AI model responses to shape future AI training data
What We're Looking For
- A Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Software Development, Computer Science, or a closely related field
- At least 3 years of professional, hands-on experience with Python
- An advanced (C1) or above proficiency level in English
- A readiness to learn new methods, switch between tasks quickly, and work with complex, challenging guidelines
Nice to Have
- 1+ year of experience with Rust, or demonstrated fast learning capability
- Practical experience with PyO3 and maturin for Python-Rust interoperability
- Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines for hybrid Python-Rust applications
