Responsibilities
- Create and validate register-transfer level (RTL) designs in VHDL or Verilog for real-time FPGA applications.
- Build high-speed communication interfaces connecting FPGA logic to external components such as analog-to-digital converters, digital-to-analog converters, direct digital synthesizers, and serial transceivers.
- Construct pipelines for real-time signal processing tasks including filtering, downsampling, summation, and closed-loop control within FPGA logic fabric.
- Develop precise timing and synchronization circuits to align operations across multiple channels and devices with sub-microsecond accuracy.
- Establish and manage FPGA synthesis, implementation, and constraint workflows for target hardware platforms.
- Design simulation test environments to verify functional correctness, timing performance, and interface standards before deployment.
- Enable communication between FPGA logic and embedded microcontroller firmware using protocols such as SPI, AXI, or shared memory.
- Conduct hardware-level debugging and performance analysis using tools like logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, and embedded probes.
- Document FPGA architectures, register layouts, interface specifications, and testing methodologies.
- Engage in technical design reviews and help shape team-wide engineering practices.
- Work jointly with firmware, hardware, systems, and infrastructure teams to convert system requirements into reliable FPGA implementations.
- Support a culture of technical integrity, ongoing improvement, and open engineering dialogue.
