Role Overview
As the Foundry Technical Manager, you will oversee critical fabrication initiatives, ensuring seamless collaboration between internal engineering groups and external foundry partners. Your leadership will be central to managing technology transitions, process change controls, and the successful ramp of new products in high-volume manufacturing environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead technical discussions and alignment during foundry transfers, ensuring smooth integration of processes and technologies.
- Work closely with foundry teams and internal stakeholders to introduce new process technologies and support customer-specific requirements.
- Facilitate regular technical review sessions with foundry partners on weekly and quarterly cycles to monitor progress and resolve technical challenges.
- Manage process change notifications (PCNs) and equipment modifications, ensuring proper evaluation and implementation.
- Collaborate with quality teams to assess and qualify process changes, supporting risk mitigation and product reliability.
- Apply in-depth knowledge of semiconductor process modules, including advanced split gate MOSFET fabrication techniques.
- Drive performance benchmarking for new technologies and lead cross-functional efforts to achieve yield and efficiency targets.
- Lead root cause investigations for product deviations, determine appropriate material dispositions, and implement corrective actions.
- Ensure robust detection systems are in place to identify process excursions early and prevent recurrence.
- Represent Foundry Operations during quality audits conducted at external manufacturing sites.
Qualifications
- Proven track record in managing foundry interface activities and technical transfer projects.
- Experience coordinating with both external foundries and internal design and process development teams.
- Strong background in supporting new technology ramp and product qualification in a foundry setting.
- Hands-on involvement in achieving process performance benchmarks for new product introductions.
- Technical expertise across multiple semiconductor process domains, with specific knowledge of split gate MOSFET processes.
- Experience leading continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, cost, and cycle time optimization.
- Direct experience in root cause analysis, corrective action implementation, and customer return failure analysis in a semiconductor manufacturing context.
- Ability to represent operations during quality assurance audits at external fabrication facilities.
