Resend was looking for a Founding Account Executive

Resend is hiring a Founding Account Executive to build our first repeatable sales motion. In this role, you'll take our existing foundations, pressure-test them, expand them, and create the scalable processes that define our go-to-market future.

What You'll Do

  • Work high-intent inbound leads from enriched, segmented enterprise logos and high-growth companies.
  • Build on existing playbooks—validate, iterate, and scale early wins and hypotheses.
  • Run experiments across messaging, timing, and channels to find repeatability.
  • Expand existing customer relationships by identifying accounts that could benefit from higher tiers or additional products.
  • Prevent churn by distinguishing accounts worth saving from natural lifecycle churn.
  • Be the voice of the customer internally—feeding learnings back to product, marketing, and success teams.
  • Document your process and learnings, which will become the foundational playbook the team builds on.

What We're Looking For

  • You've built before as a Founding AE, early sales hire, or have transitioned from BizOps, RevOps, or Success into a sales role.
  • You're customer-obsessed and genuinely curious about understanding and solving customer problems.
  • You think like a scientist, structuring your work around hypotheses, tests, measurements, and iteration.
  • You document and share learnings proactively to make the entire team smarter.
  • You are technical enough to hold a credible conversation about infrastructure, APIs, and email deliverability.
  • You care about craft and believe sales should be done with the same care and quality as great product development.
  • You're comfortable with occasional travel for conferences, prospect on-site meetings, and team events.

Team & Environment

This is a founding role where you will work directly with the founders. You'll join a fully remote team of 28 humans spanning 7 countries. The first 3-6 months are focused on learning and experimentation, not rigid quotas, with a clear path to define quotas together based on what we learn. It's an honest, low-ego team with autonomy to ship.

Benefits & Compensation

  • Compensation range: $160,000 - $220,000 USD OTE (base + variable).
